Greek II Go

Graphic Design

Story

The Greek II Go idea first started with multiple brainstorming sessions and team discussions. Our goal was to design for someone on campus, and to improve their social-living quality at UCSD. Greek II Go is a desktop optimized web application created with a user-centered frame of mind, focusing on young men looking to join fraternities at UCSD. Greek II Go’s main purpose is to enhance recreation on campus by facilitating a matching process between the prospective Greek members and their future fraternal organizations.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities included meeting up with my team at least 5-7 times a week, writing development plans, brainstorming, need finding, prototyping and interviewing potential users. My main responsibilities in the team included being the lead graphic designer for the look and feel of Greek II Go as well as all of the images and brand graphics used. I also was responsible for laying out flow of the information displayed to users.

Greek II Go mainly uses HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery to present an easy to navigate user interface, interactive pages with meaningful images & logos to go with the brand and project mission. This project was created in conjunction with the COGS 120 (Interaction Design) class with my partners Allston Fojas and Mark Tupas .

Need Finding
Our mission with Greek II Go was to enhance recreation on campus. One experience that helped us narrow our scope to a specific user group was the fact that we were all a part of greek organizations on campus, so we looked to Library Walk for leads into a creative direction.

Branding
For the Greek II Go brand we decided to use colors familiar to the UC color scheme so students can easily associate Greek2Go as a university student environment:
